The Kali Percussion Trio was founded in Parma by three Italian percussionists: Stefano Barbato, Martino Mora and Tommaso Salvadori.
Since 2018 it has actively performed in several music festivals in northern Italy and collaborated with composers like Marco Pedrazzi and Roger Catino.
Pedrazzi dedicated “Kali Dance Song” and “Perpetuum” to the trio, both of which premiered with great success. Catino’s “Pentaclocks Suite”, which premiered in 2019, saw the trio expand into a quintet for the occasion, accompanied by the Filarmonica “Arturo Toscanini” of Parma.
Barbato, Mora and Salvadori also share an intense orchestral activity with some of the major Italian and European orchestras. As a trio, they aim to expand and delve into chamber music for percussions, with a particular focus on contemporary and electronic music.
